Speaking at this occasion after taking the oaths in Tamil and Sinhala read out by Acting Registrar Thayub and Prof Naim respectively, the Vice Chancellor said that we all should impart our duty sincerely and honestly and should fulfill the vision and mission of the University. At a time when we strive hard to achieve this goal we also should determine to eradicate poverty and build a society with peace and prosperity. The Government has been spending colossal sums of money for the higher education and especially for the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and hence we all must be patriotic to the country and divert our attention towards the down trodden masses of the District who are struggling for life.
