Implementation of Agrahara Insurance Scheme for Employees of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka I am pleased to inform that the University Grants Commission by its circular No 15/2018 dated 26.11.2018 proposed to implement Agrahara Insurance Scheme for the employees of the University system after considering the several requests made by the Trade Unions. Treasury fund for the payment of insurance premium will not be allocated by the University Grants Commission and may be financed by the Employee's contribution of the respective Universities/HEIs and/or generated funds of the Universities/HEIs as approved by the governing authority. Under this scheme, the officers will be granted an opportunity, on their consent, to be a contributor for the "Gold Scheme" making a monthly contribution of Rs. 1000/. The benefits under this insurance scheme are available at www.nitf.lk.

The University Council at its 226th meeting held on 04.05.2019 decided the following in implementing the Agrahara Insurance Scheme for employees of the SEUSL

I. 50% of the monthly premium will be contributed by the University through the Generated Fund to all the staff with effect from June 2019.

II. Other 50% of the monthly premium should be contributed by the employee. Accordingly all staffs of the University who wish to join the above insurance scheme are requested to apply to Staff and Student Welfare Division before 10.06.2019. The application form sent by the National Insurance Trust Fund is attached herewith for this purpose.
