Joint Workshop for Women Entrepreneurs of Sri Lanka and India on the theme Business and Management Capacity Development of Rural Women Entrepreneurs organized by the Career Guidance Unit of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka with the funding assistance of the Asia Foundation was concluded at the Staff Development Centre of the Oluvil premises on Wednesday. The programme began with the welcome address of the Director of the Career Guidance Unit of the SEUSL Ms. MAC Salfiya was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka Prof. MMM Najim as Chief Guest while Dean of the Faculty of Management and Commerce Dr. S.Gunapalan , Professor of Management Studies, National Institute of Technology , Thiruchirappalli (NITT), India Dr. G.Kannabiran , India Barathithasan University Professor M. Manimegalai and Mentors of India and Sri Lanka and the Members of the Reputed Business Community graced the occasion.

Addressing the Women Entrepreneurs of Sri Lanka and India, members of the business community, Industrialists, Mentors and other participants of this Workshop, Vice Chancellor Prof.Najim paid a glowing tribute to Career Guidance Unit for organizing such an interesting progamme where entrepreneurs of India and Sri Lanka could exchange their ideas on various novel items while generating income for themselves. This also paves the way for bringing out the hidden talents of an individual who have hitherto been idling in the society for reasons for not being given an opportunity. This is an useful programme benefitting the entrepreneurs of India and Sri Lanka immensely. Hence, I appeal to you all to continue this programme without any interruptions and I assure that I would extend my fullest co-operation and assistance whenever needed.

The highlights of the programme was the display of varieties of food items specially the sweets and garments turned out by the women participants exhibited in the SDC Hall where the chief guest and other guests enjoyed and viewing the exhibits. The delicious items prepared the participants were also offered to the guests to taste the items.

At the conclusion of the programme the Chief Guest Prof. Najm was honoured by a Woman entrepreneur M.Inbavalli Murugappan of "Jeyam Snacks" of Thennur, Trichy by draping him with Golden Shawl for his excellent support extended for the successful programme.
