The Hindu Society Members headed by its President K.Lankeswaran accorded a warm reception to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Najim flanked by the traditional drum beatings and blowing of 'Natheswara 'trumphets while the students offered flowers to greet them.
The program began with the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the Vice Chancellor Prf Najim followed by Hindu Society's Senior President Dr. S.Anuzia, Senior Treasurer Dr. S. Gunapalan, Director SSS&W Dr. Rameez Aboobucker.
The highlight of ther ceremony was the launch of "Saasvatham" where Dr.Anuzia handed over the first copy to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najim and inaugurated the launch.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the Vice Chancellor Prof. Najim was honoured by the Society by draping him with "Golden Shawl" by Dr. S. Gunapalan.
The variety entertainments and cultural events staged by the students were the other attractive events in the card.
