Blood Donation Campaign full success, female students shown much enthusiasm


A Camp for blood donation organized by the Students Union of Faculty of Management and Commerce with the assistance of the Department of the Student Support Services of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka was held at their Recreation Centre drew a large number of Students.

The Camp held with the concept of "If you give money you give food and if you give blood you give life" drew a large crowd of students mostly female Students.

A team of Medical Personnel headed by Dr. HPR. Prasanna, MOIC from the Blood Bank of Akkaraipattu Base Hospital with the support of Dr Ruwina Galapathi and other Staff of Akkaraipattu Base Hospital carried out their task successfully.

Dr. Pransange told our Correspondent that nearly 77 pints of blood were collected from the undergraduates and the important feature of the program was nearly 60 % of the female students came forward enthusiastically for donating bloods. It's a great boon to the Akaraipattu Base Hospital which faces lots of problems in getting bloods at times.
