Sixth Annual International Research Conference of FMC was great success
The sixth Annual International Research Conference on the theme "Optimizing Enterprise through Research excellence: Technological change and Innovation:" organized by the Faculty of Management Commerce of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka at FIA Auditorium was held at FIA Auditorium in a grandeur manner on 15th Novembver,2017.
Chairman of SSM Group of Institutions, Tamil Nadu, and India Cavalier Dr. MS Mathivanan who delivered his key-note address said that research conferences of this nature always gives a boost to Universities academic activities and young graduates to enhance in innovation. So, Universities should give pride of place for these programs annually.
Adding further Dr. Mathivanan said one should possess knowledge, good behavior with attitude and health to engage in a successful research. If one is lacking in one of these three sectors, the research should not be a perfect one. In this respect I am happy to note that this University has been encouraging in this field and motivating young graduates in research activities. This is a commendable venture and this should be continued.
Dean of the Faculty of Management and Commerce Dr. S Gunapalan who chaired the Conference delivered the welcome and address.
Continuing further Cavalier Dr. MS Mathivannan said in the recent past scenario of the world the enterprises are the in the mould of liberalization, globalization, and privatization and it is a must for them to change towards the technology and lead to the new innovation. Continued research should be made by the enterprises to sustain themselves in the competitive world. Innovations are imperative need o the day and the sustainability of the enterprise mainly rely on how well strategies in the innovation to keep them ahead in all spheres.
He also added that nowadays enterprises concentrate on research and development rather than trading in the same platters. Recent study shows that 70% of their profits reaped and ploughed back in the research and development of new products technology. In this context, the Conference theme is relevant and I hope the deliberations will be useful for the Faculty and students ultimately benefitting the Society at large, he concluded.

Expert discussions on Entrepreneurship for better organizational performance was also held where Dr.Ajith Merndis (Head, Department of Marketing, University of Keleniya), Eng. ZM Hairu (Chairman Hairu Group of Companies), Cavalier Dr. MS Mathivannan,( Chairman of SSM Group of Institutions, India), Dr. K.Kaliacichelvi, (PG and Research Department of Commerce, Bharathidasan University, India) and Dr. MIM Hilal (Moderator for the Program - Faculty of Management and Commerce) participated. 96 Research papers were selected for presentation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the key-note speaker Cavalier Dr. MS Mathivannan was presented with a mento as a mark of remembrance Dean of the Faculty of Management and Commerce Dr. S.Gunapalan, who is also the Chairman of AIRC.
