A successful Workshop for English Teachers


A workshop on English Language Teaching methods for English Teachers organized by the Department of English of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka was held at the Auditorium of the Department of English Language on Thursday.

The workshop held under the auspicious of the Head of the Department of English Language Dr. AMM Navaz was attended by English Language Teachers who were the Higher National Diploma Education Recruits from Akkaraipattu, Kalmunai and Sammanthurai Zonal Educational Divisions.

The Chief Resource Person and the English Expert Dr. Ramona Stowe, English Language Fellow of the US Embassy played a significant role in conducting this workshop in an efficient manner where learning methods, teaching methodology, students Centre teaching, attitudes changes and positive approach towards the students were explained in details. Dr. Ramona also attended individual attentions too on the teachers' problems patiently and she answered all relevant questions raised by the teachers.

At the inauguration ceremony of the workshop Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Culture ML Fouzul Ameer, Senior Lecture MM Sameem and Staff of the English Language Department too were present. Head of the English Department Dr.Navaz thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof. .MMM Najim and Dean Fouzul Ameer for their excellent support and advices to conduct this Workshop successfully as in the past. Special thanks and gratrtitues were also given to Dr. Ramona Stowe for all her support extended.
