Biosystems make functional connections among technologies in agriculture, animal aquaculture, biotechnology, food science, agri-engineering, economic and entrepreneurship, environment conservation, plant sciences, and products and processes. Bachelor of Biosystems Technology (BBST) graduate will be academically excellent scholars with technologically sound, with innovative quality and leadership skills for Sri Lanka and global demand. The degree programme is planned to integrate both theoretical and practical knowledge in collaboration with industry partners by providing two industrial training programmes to gain real-world working experiences before graduation. Moreover, the graduates are exposed to research activities to make them absorb more knowledge on technological implementations as well as to improve their problem solving and decision-making skills. Biosystems Technology will have a greater competing potential in the employment market as entrepreneurs, managerial and technical level workers in both production and service sectors.
