THE 10TH ANNUAL SCIENCE RESEARCH SESSION 2021( ASRS 2021 )

THEME: “DATA-DRIVEN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS”

The Annual Science Research Session 2021 ( ASRS 2021 ) multidisciplinary Conference is the 10th in a series of successful conferences in the field of  Sciences organized by The Faculty of Applied Sciences SEUSL.

We invite authors to submit their Extended Abstracts (referred to as abstract hereafter) research under the disciplines, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science/IT, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Science Education and Statistics.

ASRS 2021 will feature a wide range of talks on cutting edge outcomes in the field of science, a keynote speech from a world-renowned entrepreneur cum scientist, and a networking lunch.

All the accepted abstracts will be published in Proceedings – ASRS 2020 with an ISBN. All registered presenters will receive a free hard copy of the abstract proceeding at the conference. 

All the accepted abstracts should be orally presented at the conference Infront of an intellectual panel and the best presenter in each track will be awarded. 

Selected research work will be invited to publish in the Journal of Science, FAS, SEUSL.

Author Instructions


  • All paper submissions are through the website ONLY. Once your paper is accepted, all final submissions should be submitted with the corrections before the deadline.
  • While submitting a paper, select the most appropriate Track for your paper.
  • Extended abstracts should be submitted as a WORD FILE ONLY on or before the deadline using the link provided in the right.
  • For language and formatting, we request all authors to revise the manuscript carefully.
  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism check using a suitable tool.
  • Manuscripts that do not conform to the following formatting guidelines will not be considered.
  • Please contact us, if you have any questions regarding your submission or experience any issues while submitting your manuscript.

Extended Abstract Guidelines:


  • All papers should be written in English.
  • The relevant track should be indicated at the top left corner of the first page.
  • The extended abstract should be limited to a maximum word limit of 1200 (including the short abstract and excluding references); minimum 03 pages and not more than 05 pages including references; A4 size pages; consisting of the following sections
Title (maximum of 16 words)
Author affiliation
Short abstract (limited to 200 words)
Keywords (up to 3-5 keywords)
Introduction (including Research problem/s, Objective/s and literature review)
Methodology
Results and Discussion
Conclusion
References (up to 6)
Figures and Tables could be included only if essential(maximum of 2).
  • All references including authors’ previous work should be referred to as 3rd-persons’ works.
  • It is mandatory for all authors to submit their extended abstracts strictly adhering to the following template.
  • Please ensure that all guidance text is removed from your conference paper prior to submission to the conference.

  • ASRS organizing committee strongly discourages changes and, in particular, withdrawals of abstracts after submitting. Therefore, authors are strongly encouraged to have all necessary company and/or government approvals prior to submitting the abstracts to the conference.
  • ASRS policies will be followed, if it’s necessary for the author(s) to withdraw or change a paper under any circumstances.

Guidelines


  • All oral presentations must be in MS PowerPoint 2013 or earlier format and be sent to asrs2021@seu.ac.lk by November 23rd, 2021.
  • In case of participating physically, we recommend you bring a backup copy (CD-ROM, DVD, or USB storage device) of your presentation to the meeting.
  • Please limit your Oral Presentation to 10 minutes (Maximum 20 slide)


The best presenter for each track will be selected by a review panel and be awarded a certificate.

Presentation suggestions:


  • Limit your speech to the allotted time.
  • Please discuss the material as reported in the abstract.
  • Speak slowly and clearly.
  • Use short sentences.
  • Use one graphic for each 1 or 2 minutes of presentation time.
  • Avoid using small fonts:  Break up a complex slide into a series of slides.
  • Devote each graphic to a single fact, idea, or finding. Illustrate major points or trends, not detailed data.
  • Avoid long or complicated formulas or equations. Each graphic should remain on the screen for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use the minimum number of words possible in titles, subtitles, and captions.
  • Standard abbreviations are acceptable.

Abstract Review Process


  • All submitted abstracts will undergo a double-blind peer review conducted by a panel of internal and external expertise in sciences.
  • Results of the abstract review will be sent to the author (Conditions apply if there is an emergency).
  • Failure to remove template text from your paper may result in your paper not being published.
  • Notices of acceptance or rejection of the paper will be sent to the author with reviewer comments.
  • If revisions are required according to the reviewer comments, the revised abstract must be sent back within the given deadline.
  • If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to register for the Conference.

Abstract Assessment Criteria


Each abstract will be independently assessed by at least two reviewers based on:

  • Originality
  • Rationale of the research concept and objective (Aims/objectives clearly stated)
  • Quality of the research design/Methods and Techniques and data analysis
  • Interpretation of results
  • Clarity of writing/ language
  • Relevance to the conference
  • Structure of the paper
  • Overall presentation
