Faculty Development Projects
Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) will focus on expanding, diversifying and developing the higher education sector in Sri Lanka to drive economic growth through knowledge-based industrial and service sector activity and on producing graduates of global quality. This program will be financed by the World Bank through the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways (MHEH) via the Program-for-Results (PforR) financing instrument. The PforR's distinctive features include linking the disbursement of funds directly to the achievement of specific program results. The AHEAD program will have the following three results areas:
# Increase Enrollment in Higher Education in Priority Areas for Economic Development
# Improve the Quality of Higher Education
# Promote Research, Development, and Innovation
This document focuses on Enriching Learning, Teaching, Assessment and English Language Skills Enhancement (ELTA-ELSE) Development Projects (DPs) for Faculties , a vitally important component of Results Area Two: 'Improve the quality of higher education' and provides guidelines for proposal preparation for the ELTA-ELSE Faculty DPs.
